In addition to its other merits, the game was one of the few that made use of the N64 Transfer Pak. Things rapidly become more complicated and she soon finds herself in the middle of a war between two alien races who have allied themselves with different factions on Earth. Joanna Dark, having recently graduated the Carrington Institutes's training program with the first ever "Perfect" score, is sent to meet an insider from the dataDyne corporation.
#PERFECT DARK DEEP SEA PERFECT AGENT SERIES#
I know all of the stages change a little depending on difficulty, but Deep Sea is almost like a different stage entirely on Perfect Agent. The Perfect Dark series began in 2000 with Perfect Dark for the Nintendo 64, a Spiritual Successor to Rare's previous FPS classic GoldenEye, with which it shared a (modified) engine. I think Deep Sea wins out because of how long it is, and how difficult it is on Perfect Agent. Least favorite: Crash Site - Confrontation, or Deep Sea - Nullify Threat.

The third was pretty cool though, getting to ride the hoverbike through the corridors of Area 51 to escape. The first part is probably the weakest of the three parts, but once you're inside it's not too bad. But I also loved the setup and pay-off to Area 51. Air Force Base holds a special place in my heart because despite how many times I died to it, finally beating it on Perfect Agent felt amazing. I love the idea that the hub I've been idly exploring up until then actually ended up being used as a stage. I'm honestly surprised how much dislike Carrington Institute is getting. The rest of the level is a bit better, but that first 1/3 is some bullshit.įavorite: Entirety of Area 51.

Then you have to use all your ammo to destroy the 3 consoles to lower the shields and the other Skedar, then run across the docking bay, hope to god you don't take a hit from the several Skedar shooting at you, make it up the elevator on the other side, dodge fire from THAT Skedar, activate the console to open the docking bay doors, then when you come down the elevator, Elvis is there to greet you but so is a Skedar, so good luck getting the AR34 from Elvis without Elvis dying or you taking way too much damage. The hit-boxes on the Skedar are some serious bullshit, you're given shit weapons (AR34, Elvis, really? Gimme a fucking Callisto or something with more firepower!) and the beginning of the mission gives you one knife which is bollocks. Each time you get shot takes away like 1/5 of your health (no shields on Perfect Agent). Attack Ship, at least on Perfect Agent, is some bullshit. Crash Site is just a huge sprawling mess and the objectives aren't too fun. Worst level - Either Crash Site: Confrontation or Attack Ship: Covert Assault. Honorable mentions: Air Base: Espionage and Air Force One: Antiterrorism. The music, ambiance and layout of this level (along with the multiple ways of completing each objective) are really awesome.
#PERFECT DARK DEEP SEA PERFECT AGENT PLUS#
The outside fighting areas plus the stealth sections and the all-out battle sections make this a really awesome mission.Ĭhicago is a close second. Also, depending on how you escape the facility (if you let Johnathon take the UFO and escape on foot yourself) you can have Johnathon protecting the outside of Carrington's office during the Institute mission while you destroy the files with the laser.

Save the technician by knocking him out to get his key card? He opens a door in the next level for you which leads you up to find a Phoenix (which is an Easter egg referencing the bonus mission that takes place on this same was left there by Elvis when he made the distress call). Additionally, what you do in one level affects the next. And I really like how much the objectives change how you proceed through the level based on difficulty. The whole level is huge and has tons of paths and little nooks and areas. Breaking into Area 51, discovering aliens, awesome guns, tons of hidden secrets and easter eggs. Best level - The Area 51 3 part mission (technically 3 levels, but it's one "mission").
