(This worked with GIMP 2.6) Now whats a reasonable way to get GIMP to accept new fonts Preferably Id like it to use all the same fonts Ive got installed in the system Font Book. Except for all the above tools, GIMP offers some other tools such as paths, zoom, color picker, text, and more.

Once downloaded, you can copy the downloaded file or you can also copy the font from the Windows font folder. Download the font that you want to add to your system. Once you’ve done that, your newly-added fonts should be ready to use. Follow the below steps to find the font folder of GIMP. If you already have GIMP and/or Inkscape open, you’ll have to close out of them and reopen again in order for the new font(s) to populate in the font directory.
